Position: Metal Steel Fabricator
Salary: $18.00/hour
Shifts: 1st Shift - 5:30 am - 3:30 pm
 
Job Requirements:
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Check
  • Math Test (Fractions and Measurement Test)
 
Position Overview:
  • Fabrication of metal structures by cutting, bending, and assembling processes.
  • Ensure all safety practices are followed and look for continuous improvement.
  • Use Ajax to size intermediate and finishing mills for setup.
  • Keeping all stands (1-16) at the designed size.
  • Maintain communication with mill adjust personnel to ensure the finished product is of prime quality.
  • Maintain expected production rates.
  • Inspection of new stands after installation in the mill to ensure proper set-up before rolling.
  • Maintain constant axle temperatures by adjusting furnace temps when needed.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in manufacturing, metalworking, and foundry a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Must be a Team Player
 
Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, walk, twist, lift, and turn.
  • The constant dominant hand activity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving material.
  •  Strong verbal communication is required.
 
Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to outside elements, (building with an open door)
