Job Summary: The Estimator plays a pivotal role at Whirlwind Building Systems, ensuring the successful delivery of accurate, competitive building quotes that align with the company's standards and practices. This position is crucial in supporting our sales efforts, collaborating closely with District Sales Managers and Project Managers across commercial, heavy industrial, conventional, and hybrid projects

Key Responsibilities:

· Review bid specifications and architectural drawings to fully understand project requirements.

· Thoroughly examine all drawings and specifications, identifying potential discrepancies or areas that require further clarification. Engage in continuous dialogue with relevant teams to ensure complete understanding.

· Work alongside District Sales Managers and Project Managers to provide the necessary technical and pricing support to secure projects.

· Compile and present detailed quotes and contract forms, clearly outlining the scope of work, exclusions, and qualifications.

· Engage in design reviews, cost assessments, and scope evaluations to ensure alignment with project goals and company standards.

· Obtain and evaluate buy-outs from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring all aspects of the project are covered.

· Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, contributing to the ongoing improvement of estimating practices.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.

· Previous experience in the Metal Building Industry is required.

· Meticulous in reviewing and interpreting project documents.

· Ability to work both independently and within a team, fostering a collaborative environment.

· Experience with Metal Building Software (MBS) is required.

· Expertise in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

· Strong foundational knowledge in fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings with precision.

· Competence in identifying exclusions or qualifications in project specifications.

· Comfortable drafting contractual language to define the scope of work clearly.
