Job description

American Health Imaging is looking for a registered PRN CT Technologist for Conyers, GA location.ย  This is a PRN role, with hours from either 7AM to 10PM.

Job Summary:

As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients!ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.ย ย 
  • Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patientย ย 
  • Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patientsโ€™ needs and questionsย ย 
  • Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on/off examination table as needed.ย ย 
  • Monitor patients during exam ย 
  • Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies ย 
  • Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administrationย ย 
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast ย 
  • Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices ย 
  • Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as neededย ย 
  • Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentationย ย 
  • Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient ย 
  • Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner ย 
  • Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices. ย 
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulationsย ย 
  • Initiate basic life support actions when necessary ย 
  • Use infection control practices ย 
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance ย 
  • All other duties as assigned ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Graduate of approved program for Radiological Technologyย 
  • ARRT and CT Registry requiredย 
  • Current BLS/CPR trainingย 
  • CT scanner operation and training ย 
  • CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology ย 
  • Knowledge of operation system of CT scanner, RIS and PACS ย 
  • Basic proficiency with computer monitors, keyboard and mouse for scanning, RIS and PACS useย ย 
  • Organized, detail oriented, observant ย 
  • Calm and effective communicator ย 
  • Helpful, patient and sympatheticย ย 

Physical Demands of the Position ย 

  • Lifting, moving, positioning and assisting of patients on/off examination tableย ย 
  • Walking 25% of shift, standing 50% of shift, sitting 25% of shift ย
