Job description

Temporary Material Handler

The Temporary Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical or administrative/physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.

Location: Portland, OR (onsite)

Your Challenge

  • Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area, warehouse & production floor

  • With supervision, will perform cycle counting

  • Will perform kit pulling for production work orders

  • With supervision will be verifying contents of packages received, stocking items on shelves and labeling product or bins

  • With supervision may be packing finished product for shipping

  • Performance requires physical attendance

  • With supervision will perform basic inventory movements, location changes and inventory consolidations

  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • One year of experience in material control or equivalent

  • Experience with material handling equipment

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills required when working with other departments within the company

  • Good reading comprehension skills. Able to read and understand SOP’s. Able to comprehend verbal instructions and execute them

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
