Job description

Beth Israel Milton is currently seeking a Per Diem Cook.
Under the direction of the Chef, assists in preparation and cooking of foods for patients, café, and special functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and cooks food items according to tally sheets and café menu.
Prepares food items utilizing standardized recipes.
Sets up hot foods on patient tray line.
Records temperature of food items on log sheet.
Assists in preparation of functions, as needed.
Keeps café stocked with hot food items.
Wears appropriate clean uniform, head covering, and identification.
Breaks down café and patient line.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of cooking equipment and work area.
Completes Cook’s checklist.
Educated on patient’s Population Specific preferences.
Educated and performs excellent customer services.
Performs related duties as required and assigned.
May be required to perform similar or related duties as may be necessary on an
emergency, temporary or limited basis as assigned.
Performs add duties in accordance with the safety and other laws, rules, and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
All job functions are subject to change at the discretion of the Hospital Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
Minimum Experience:
One to two years of cooking experience in a health care facility. Must be able to demonstrate techniques of using standardized recipes and sanitary food handling practices.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in hot and cold areas, to stand and walk for long periods of time, to lift, adjust, and place supplies of varying weights.
Ability to work flexible hours of a food service operation. Required to work every other weekend and rotating holidays

Pay Range:

$19.68 - $26.49

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
