Job description

Job Title: Senior Systems Operations & Data Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Operations & Data Analyst to ensure the reliability and performance of our most business-critical data ecosystems. You will be the primary technical authority responsible for monitoring high-volume data pipelines, troubleshooting complex application failures, and maintaining the integrity of our integrated systems.
This is a "boots-on-the-ground" role for an engineer who excels in high-pressure operational environments. You will bridge the gap between software development and infrastructure, handling everything from root-cause analysis of job failures to executing large-scale system upgrades. If you are comfortable in a 24/7 support environment and enjoy the challenge of debugging complex, multi-layer data flows, this role offers the autonomy and impact you are looking for.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Reliability & Data Integrity
• Operational Stability: Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, including application job failures, data delays, and long-running processes.
• Data Quality Engineering: Analyze and resolve complex data quality issues and integration failures between disparate systems (e.g., MDMS-style data warehouses and downstream applications).
• Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts, including ticket resolution, root cause analysis (RCA), and coordinating with infrastructure partners to restore services under strict SLAs.
Technical Execution & Lifecycle Support
• Lifecycle Management: Partner with infrastructure teams to execute hardware/software lifecycle upgrades and network environment enhancements.
• Release Testing: Oversee comprehensive testing cycles (functional, performance, and operational readiness) for system patches, defect fixes, and new feature deployments.
• Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain technical runbooks, operational standards, and system documentation to ensure team-wide consistency.
Security & Compliance
• Vulnerability Management: Manage the patching and remediation lifecycle for operating systems and applications to ensure 100% compliance with organizational security policies.
• Governance: Support data privacy and access control initiatives, ensuring all system changes are logged and managed through formal change management processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in 24/7 application support within Windows and Linux environments.
• Technical Mastery:
oDatabase: Advanced MS SQL / Oracle expertise (T-SQL, performance tuning, data validation).
oMiddleware/App Stack: Experience with IIS, Kafka, and .NET applications.
oScripting: Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and log analysis.
• Operational Literacy: Strong understanding of ITIL standards and experience working with enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow/PagerDuty).
Preferred Attributes
• Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with enterprise workload automation tools (e.g., Automic/UC4).
• A background in data center disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing.
• Understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks and vulnerability remediation.
