Job description


Position Title: Structural Design Engineer II
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Structural Design Engineer with our client in Merritt Island, FL.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage stakeholders to gather and clarify structural and functional requirements
  • Translate requirements into vendor-ready design packages suitable for fabrication and construction
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and site conditions
  • Coordinate with vendors during fabrication to resolve RFIs and design clarifications
  • Incorporate engineering changes and design revisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Maintain revision-controlled drawing sets and document key design decisions
  • Support design reviews and resolve technical questions in the field.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of structural, civil, or mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience producing fabrication-ready design packages for external vendors
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements
  • Proficiency in relevant CAD or design tools.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Experience with temporary or modular structures, including tent structures
  • Familiarity with anchorage, foundation, and environmental load considerations for temporary installations
