Job Description - Assistant/ Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy
Job Summary:
This faculty will hold primary responsibilities in DPT program teaching and research mentorship, with additional expectations in scholarly productivity in physical therapy. The faculty member will interact in teaching roles with other members of the Department of Physical Therapy and of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Community.
Accountabilities:
Teach core and elective courses in the DPT curriculum such as research methods, clinical sciences, and foundational sciences as may be assigned according to the candidate's areas of expertise and the needs of the department.
Participate collegially in departmental and university service and governance functions.
Participate in curriculum and program development in the area of specialization.
Perform scholarly activities and conduct research in the physical therapy clinical sciences or physical therapy education.
Serve as an advisor for entry level clinical doctorate students.
Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department.

Minimum qualifications:
An entry level physical therapy degree (DPT or equivalent required) and an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD preferred) in an area relevant to Physical Therapy
Eligibility for Physical Therapy licensure in Florida.
University level teaching experience in physical therapy clinical sciences.
Experience in teaching, mentoring, and advising physical therapy clinical doctorate students (required) and/or PhD students (preferred).
Record of scholarly activity in physical therapy clinical sciences or physical therapy education.
Record of foundation or federal funding or potential for such funding.
