Job description

Are you a sharp, detail-oriented litigator who enjoys handling sophisticated business disputes while working in a collaborative, low-ego environment? Would you like to work in a small firm with great colleagues? If so, R & W Group has a great new opportunity! One of our favorite clients, a boutique Northern Virginia litigation firm, is seeking a Mid-Level Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join the team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a longer-term opportunity. The firm is hoping to bring someone on as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a highly autonomous environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service and high-quality work product.
Responsibilities
  • Handle business litigation matters from pleadings through resolution
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and manage case strategy
  • Communicate directly with clients and help manage ongoing matters
  • Appear for court hearings, depositions, and related proceedings as needed

Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of business litigation experience
  • Virginia Bar admission required; DC and/or Maryland admission is a plus
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
  • Prior midsize or large law firm experience preferred
  • Someone who is proactive, responsive, detail-oriented, and client-service focused

Why you will love this role
  • Fully remote outside of court appearances and depositions
  • Collaborative, supportive team culture without micromanagement
  • Full legal assistant and paralegal support provided
  • Fast-paced but highly collegial atmosphere

Compensation
  • Hourly rate: $80 to $90/hour

You MUST be based in the DC area due to court appearances and deposition responsibilities.
