Mission:
The merchandise planning team for the North America Owned Retail Stores is responsible for building merchandise financial plans that maximize sales, gross profit, inventory turns, and minimize markdowns. They manage the OTB and forecast plans for specific categories and stores by analyzing financials, market, and customer data. They are also responsible for creating/maintaining the NA store promotional calendar. As a planning intern, you will support the planning team by managing merchandise financial plans for specific categories/product or locations, create daily sales store plans, create promotions in the system, and provide analysis to the merchant team.
This is a temporary 9-month contract, 40-hour position based in our Brighton, MA office, with on-site work required three days a week-Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Major Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the sales, gross margin, and inventory plans for specific categories/product or locations during budget, re-forecast, and OTB updates.
  • Quantify in-season risks and opportunities at the department, class, and style level making the appropriate recommendations to the merchant teams.
  • Develop daily store level plans that tie back to weekly product plans
  • Update item groups and pricing documents in our Aptos system that drive in store promotions.
  • Update weekly/monthly business summaries to report the status of the business.
  • Attend and help prepare materials for weekly business meetings.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and report creation as needed

Requirements for Success:
  • Working toward or having completed a B.A. in a related field
  • Candidate must be proficient in retail math.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is required
  • Candidate must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with different levels of management.
  • Candidate must be energetic, have a positive, can-do attitude and experience working in a team environment.

Boston, MA 80 Guest Street Only Pay Range: $28.60 - $36.68 - $44.71 Hourly (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)
