Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.
The Senior Product Manager - Technical (PM-T) will lead the discovery, definition, and delivery of capabilities required to launch and expand Amazon Leo's eCommerce presence into new geographies. This role involves working on complex, high-impact challenges - from understanding regulatory and technical requirements unique to each market, to building scalable solutions that accelerate country readiness.
The PM-T will partner closely with engineering, legal, and business teams to define requirements, drive technical architecture decisions, and ensure the right foundations are in place for a successful launch. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of product strategy and technical execution, with direct impact on Amazon Leo's global expansion roadmap.
Key job responsibilities
Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for country expansion, setting the technical direction for launching eCommerce into new geographies while balancing speed-to-market with longterm scalability
Own and instrument readiness as a gating input metric for country launch sequencing. Define, track, and optimize compliance readiness scores across target geographies to accelerate launch timelines.
Identify and prioritize regulatory, technical, and customer experience requirements across the full LBGUPS (Learn, Buy, Get, Use, Pay, Serve) journey, translating country-specific needs into clear product specifications for engineering teams.
Serve as the single-threaded owner for cross-functional alignment across engineering, legal, finance, operations, and business development, ensuring launch milestones and dependencies are clearly defined and tracked
Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to senior leadership through well-structured written documents, and establish launch readiness criteria to validate country readiness before go-live
Capture learnings from each launch to continuously improve the expansion playbook and identify opportunities to automate repeatable country tasks.
Conduct direct customer discovery in target geographies to validate LBGUPS journey gaps and distinguish regulatory constraints from genuine customer needs.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
As a PM-T on the Country Expansion team, your day is a blend of technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration. You'll work with engineering, legal, and business teams across geographies to define requirements, resolve blockers, and drive decisions that determine whether a new country launches on time. From reviewing country-specific technical solutions to aligning on Shared Capabilities that accelerate future expansions, every decision you make today builds the foundation for customers in new geographies to seamlessly discover, buy, and receive products.
About the team
The Country Expansion team is at the forefront of bringing Amazon Leo's eCommerce experience to customers in new geographies. We tackle some of the most complex and rewarding challenges in the company - navigating country-specific regulatory requirements, building Shared Capabilities that scale across geographies, and partnering with teams across engineering, legal, finance, and operations to make every launch a success. If you're energized by ambiguity, thrive at the intersection of technical depth and strategic thinking, and want your work to directly shape how millions of new customers experience Amazon Leo for the first time, this is the team for you.
