In this critical, hands-on position, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, directly influencing the safety, quality, and timely return to service of aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance. Your expertise will be instrumental in bridging the gap between internal engineering teams and external maintenance partners, driving excellence and upholding the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the organization and assigned maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) vendors.
  • Monitor specific aircraft heavy maintenance work in progress to ensure workmanship, quality, and compliance with approved work scopes and applicable specifications.
  • Oversee major maintenance events, including technical findings, non-routine discrepancies, repairs, and changes to the planned work scope.
  • Review aircraft discrepancies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with maintenance, engineering, quality, and vendor teams.
  • Authorize or coordinate changes to maintenance work scopes as conditions evolve during maintenance events.
  • Track maintenance progress and proactively identify issues that could impact safety, quality, cost, or aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of discrepancies, findings, corrective actions, and other maintenance activity.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure required technical information and dispositions are provided to maintenance vendors in a timely manner.
  • Perform or support root-cause analysis of significant aircraft discrepancies identified before or during maintenance.

  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures, inspections, discrepancies, non-routine findings, and corrective actions.
  • Experience working with technical maintenance documentation, work packages, work scopes, maintenance manuals, specifications, and/or engineering instructions.
  • Ability to assess maintenance issues and understand their potential impact on airworthiness, safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across maintenance, engineering, quality, materials, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Representative, Heavy Maintenance Representative, Technical Representative, MRO Representative, or Vendor Maintenance Representative.
  • Experience representing an airline or aircraft operator at an external MRO or repair facility.
  • Experience supporting Boeing 737 heavy checks/C-checks or comparable major maintenance visits.
