Job description

General Purpose:  To perform maintenance, construction, and repair work on District buildings, facilities, and grounds; keeping in top operating condition.  
Reports To:  Facilities & Maintenance Manager and/or Building Administrator
Temporary for the 2026-2027 school year



Salary Range:  $22.39/hr - $26.89/hr
Full Time, 12 Month


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, completion of trade school or equivalent, with special training in one or more trades; or any combination of education and experience which would provide desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License
  • Must pass criminal background check / pre-employment drug screen
  • Completion of required SafeSchools training

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve continuity and works cooperatively with others.
  • Works independently with little direct supervision.
  • Operates district vehicle to conduct work.
  • May work in support of journeyman in the areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other trade positions in the district including grounds.
  • Maintains and makes repairs to buildings, equipment and grounds.
  • Preparation and painting as needed.
  • May operate grounds equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, etc.
  • May operate woodworking equipment in support of woodworking, cabinet and construction projects.
  • May operate the equipment and works as necessary to support electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other technicians.
  • May inspect and maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper heat and air flow and service air compressors and greasing bearings, and cleaning/changing filters as necessary, etc.
  • May fabricate and maintain metal structures and equipment using welders and other appropriate tools or machines.
  • Repairs locks, doors, door jams, windows, panic hardware and door closers as needed and may maintain alarm systems and key maintenance records.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Understands and complies with safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs minor vehicle and equipment repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.  May be required to perform emergency repairs during evening or weekend hours.
  • Work in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agency guidelines.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding and/or Testing Required:

  • Possess and maintain a valid First Aid card as required
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance/FBI Background check
  • Pre-Employment drug screen (to include THC screening)
  • Blood borne Pathogen Training/Hepatitis B Shot Series Training as required
  • SafeSchools Training as required
