Temp Agency information

What are some typical challenges I might face when working through a temp agency, and how can I overcome them?

Working through a temp agency often means adapting quickly to new work environments and teams, which can be challenging. Assignments may vary in length and industry, requiring flexibility and strong communication skills. It’s important to stay proactive, ask questions early, and build rapport with both agency staff and on-site supervisors. Demonstrating reliability and a positive attitude can help you secure repeat assignments and even lead to permanent positions if that is your goal.

What exactly does a temp agency do?

A temp agency connects employers with temporary workers to fill short-term staffing needs. They handle tasks such as recruiting, screening, and placing workers in various industries, often providing training and payroll services. Temporary jobs can range from administrative roles to skilled labor, depending on the agency's specialization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temp agency professional?

To thrive in a Temp Agency role, you need strong organizational skills, a good understanding of recruitment processes, and experience or education in human resources or business administration. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and HR management software is typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and relationship-building skills help you connect with both clients and candidates effectively. These competencies are crucial for efficiently matching talent with opportunities, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining a dynamic workflow.

What is a temp agency?

A temp agency, short for temporary employment agency, is a company that matches employers with workers for short-term positions. These agencies help businesses fill staffing gaps quickly and provide job seekers with temporary or contract work. Temp agencies handle the hiring process, payroll, and sometimes benefits, making it easier for both employers and employees. They can be a stepping stone to permanent employment or a way to gain experience in different industries.

How do I get hired by a temp agency?

To get hired by a temp agency, you typically need to submit an application, provide a resume highlighting relevant skills, and complete an interview process. Many agencies also require background checks and may ask for certifications or specific skills depending on the job type. Building a flexible skill set and maintaining a professional attitude can improve your chances of placement.

Job description

Medicare Sales Agent- Focused Health Outbound (Temporary)

Position Overview:

Bloom, the insurance industry's trusted growth partner, is seeking a motivated and skilled Medicare Sales Agent to join our team for the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 - December 7).

This is a temporary Medicare Sales Agent position supporting Bloom's Medicare sales programs during the busiest part of the year. The role typically begins in August or September, depending on business needs and program assignment. Agents will be assigned schedules within our Hours of Operation (HOO) and are expected to maintain flexibility to work shifts across operating hours, including potential weekend and evening coverage, based on business needs. During Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) hours of operation typically run Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST with possible Saturday overtime.

In this role, you will work assigned leads through outbound calls supporting the Focused Health program. While agents may support multiple product types, the primary focus will be Medicare Advantage (MA) sales, and agents may not sell MA products outside of Bloom.

This is a temporary role aligned with the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which runs October 15 - December 7. There is potential for the contract to extend into the Open Enrollment Period (OEP), January 1 - March 31, based on performance and business needs. Upon completion of the season, high-performing agents may be considered for transition to a full-time benefits eligible role, depending on available opportunities.

Ready to make an impact and accelerate your career? Join Bloom and be part of something big!

Why Join the Bloom Team?

  • Eligible new hires can earn a $1,300 bonus, paid in 3 installments depending on hire type. Excludes rehires and agency hires. Must be in good standing at time of payroll processing to remain eligible.
  • Exceptional earning potential: In addition to hourly base pay, high-performing agents can significantly increase their earnings through our uncapped incentive program. Based on historical performance, top performers have earned incentive compensation equivalent to up to an additional $17 per hour. Actual earnings vary and are not guaranteed.
  • 100% remote - work from the comfort of home
  • We cover the cost for you to maintain an active license
  • Paid overtime for extra hours
  • Supportive culture focusing on coaching, feedback, and professional growth.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Requirement:

This is a remote Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) position, which means employees will use their own computer equipment while working from home. To help protect customer information and maintain compliance with Medicare and company security requirements, Bloom will provide and install approved security software on the device used for work purposes.

Employees must also have reliable high-speed internet access and a workspace that supports a professional and productive working environment. Bloom's team will provide guidance on the technology requirements and assist with the setup process to help ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
