Description
To be eligible for full-time work in the summer, you can only be enrolled in 1 summer class during summer 1 & summer 2, or not taking summer classes but enrolled in fall classes.
The ability to work 40 hours a week with good attendance. Working on a custodial team to detail clean dorm suites, public areas: restrooms, lounges, hallways, offices, kitchens, conference rooms, entrances, elevators, laundry rooms & stairwells. Detail cleaning apartments. Using floor machines and carpet extractors for resurfacing tile floors when necessary and cleaning carpets. Moving from building to building, cleaning wherever necessary to have dorms ready for summer camps and then for the new school year, and apartments ready for new residents. The ability to lift 50 lbs, and carry custodial buckets and equipment up and down stairs, and from building to building. Moving Furniture when doing floor work and resetting rooms. Attention to detail is important. Could involve cleaning mold from surfaces in dorms and apartments.
Examples of Duties
Clean Dorm buildings and Apartments; using chemicals, broom, dustpan, vacuum, mop & mop bucket.
Floor work - Hard surface floors use Roto, Wet-vac, Mop & Mop bucket, Finish & finish bucket and finish mop.
Floorwork - Carpet use Cadet and carpet cleaner to extract the carpet or Host carpet extractor with Host compound to clean the carpet.
Stairs - Sweep & mop, spot clean walls & clean handrails.
Hallways - Clean walls, water fountains, debug lights & vacuum floors.
Kitchens - Clean appliances, cabinets, sink, furniture, walls, trash, debug lights, sweep & mop floors.
Bathrooms - Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, tubs & showers, cabinets, mirrors, trash, debug lights, sweep & mop floors. (May involve Mold clean up)
Dorm rooms - Cleaning furniture inside and out, closets, windows, walls, mirrors, trash, debug lights, sweep & mop floors. (May involve Mold clean up)
Lounges/Meeting rooms - Clean all surfaces, furniture, walls, windows, trash, debug lights & vacuum floors.
Laundry Rooms - Clean Washers & Dryers inside and out, walls, windows, trash, sweep & mop floors.
Elevator - Clean walls, control panel, debug lights, tracks, vacuum or sweep & mop.
Supplemental Information
Position requires sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to bend, squat, and reach regularly/on occasion. Capable of moving, and transporting materials regularly/on occasion. Duties imply the use of a computer and other technology involving fine finger movements. Communicate orally and in writing with various audiences. Additional physical demands based on specific department needs.
