• The role is part of the Digital Banking team, specifically supporting the Digital Account Onboarding (DAO) platform and related technologies. As a Staff Engineer II, you will provide technical expertise across a defined set of tools and platforms to help ensure solutions are secure, compliant, reliable, and supportable. You will identify development and support needs, contribute to solution design, and partner across engineering and business teams to deliver enhancements and operational improvements. This role requires hands-on experience with Temenos Journey Manager, including its Java and Groovy-based backend services, integrations, and deployment patterns.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, configure, and enhance solutions on the current DAO platform in Temenos Journey Manager, including form orchestration, backend service logic, and integrations aligned to business priorities.
• Contribute to technical solution design for onboarding journeys, including Journey Manager application structure, service definitions, data flows, API integration patterns, and reusable components.
• Build and support Java and Groovy-based backend services, business rules, and integration logic using Temenos Journey SDK and platform service frameworks.
• Design and implement reliability, monitoring, and error-handling practices for transaction processing, including application logging, service diagnostics, and transaction-specific performance metrics.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for configurations, deployment steps, support procedures, integration mappings, and operational runbooks while ensuring compliance with IT policies and engineering standards.
• Create and maintain REST-based integrations with internal and external platforms using Journey Manager REST APIs, Groovy services, and related middleware patterns.
• Support code quality through unit testing, integration testing, debugging, source control, and CI/CD pipeline usage across development, test, and production support activities.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of related experience in application development, application support, integration engineering, or a similar technology role.
• Hands-on experience developing applications with Temenos Journey Manager and Journey SDK, including packaging, deployment, and environment promotion activities.
• Working knowledge of Java and Groovy for backend service development, business rules, scripting, and platform extensions within Temenos Journey Manager.
• Experience with REST API integration patterns, JSON and XML payloads, web services, and secure connectivity to enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Temenos Integration Framework (TIF) and related integration approaches for connecting external systems and services.
• Experience using IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse and build tools such as Ant or Maven to develop, test, and maintain Journey Manager applications.
• Ability to create and execute unit tests and integration tests for Groovy services, backend components, and end-to-end onboarding flows.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release management practices, preferably using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze logs, isolate defects, support incident resolution, and improve operational observability for digital onboarding journeys.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Proven ability to contribute across multiple projects simultaneously, including pipeline development, release coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong ability to understand end-to-end solution context, align engineering work to organizational goals, identify delivery risks, and follow governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews, and architectural compliance.
