TELUS Health (US) Benefits Administration and Operations practice delivers specialized expertise and innovative solutions for benefits administration, data management, and end to end client support. By leveraging sophisticated database tools and technical excellence, we simplify complex benefits processes so our clients can provide a seamless, hassle free experience for their employees.
As a Benefits Analyst you will be the trusted technical partner and subject matter expert for large market client accounts. You'll design custom database solutions, provide expert case management support, and help reshape how organizations administer health and welfare benefit programs. The role is client facing and requires strong communication, relationship building, and analytical skills.
What You Will Do
Service Delivery & Technical Support

  • Monitor assigned tasks and projects to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Provide expert technical support to TELUS Health Outsourcing users across the business applications you own.
  • Manage administrative and case-management activities with minimal supervision, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process individual participant requests and perform plan-level data processing and analysis.
  • Complete and peer-review transactions and file postings for plan participants.
  • Proactively communicate with clients regarding participant inquiries that require additional information.
  • Use sophisticated database tools to configure client healthcare and group-benefits databases-defining data fields, importing data, designing screens, and creating queries/reports.
Technical Analysis & Problem Solving
  • Apply specialized technical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective solutions for complex problems.
  • Leverage deep domain expertise in health and welfare benefits (rules and regulations) to inform decision-making and programming.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis, troubleshooting, and eligibility-logic assessment.
  • Test and validate system configurations against requirement documents during implementation and ongoing administration.
  • Review plan documents to support research and build comprehensive, plan-specific knowledge.
  • Contribute to business-requirements development based on analytical findings.
Quality Assurance & Project Management
  • Integrate Quality Assurance processes into all projects and deliverables to guarantee excellence.
  • Participate in client-specific and enterprise-wide TELUS Health project initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and project managers to define project scope, objectives, assignments, and timelines.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively alert stakeholders if deliverables are at risk.
  • Ensure all work products meet quality standards and are delivered within established timeframes.
What You Bring
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefit administration, business analysis, or operations with a solid understanding of health and group-benefits programs.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage time effectively, and stay organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable collaborating in team-oriented environments.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to quality, deadlines, continuous improvement, and personal growth.
Great-to-Have
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional certifications in HR, benefits, or related areas (e.g., CEBS).
  • Project-management experience.
  • SQL, MS Access, and/or VBA programming skills.
  • Experience with database management or large-scale data processing.
  • Background in project coordination or administrative support.
  • Consulting or client-services experience.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements in benefits administration (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, etc.).
Why Join TELUS Health
