Job Summary

JOB SUMMARYServes as a strategic leader within the Office of Regional Development (ORD), advancing highpriority initiatives and shaping policy direction in alignment with the Mayor's priorities. The role oversees complex, crossdepartmental projects, conducts rigorous policy and data analysis, and provides senior leadership with actionable insights and recommendations. Areas of focus may include housing, regional planning and transportation, economic development, environmental sustainability, and canyon management. The position plays a critical role in ensuring ORD's work is coordinated, datadriven, and strategically aligned with Countywide objectives.RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, Sociology, Economics, Statistics, Information Science, or related field, plus five (5) years of related experience, of which one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides advanced policy research, analysis, and data interpretation to inform strategic decisionmaking for ORD and the Mayor's Office.
  • Leads the development, planning, and execution of special projects, establishing strategic goals and identifying risks, constraints, and implementation pathways.
  • Evaluates policies, operational processes, interdependencies, and data systems to design innovative, evidencebased solutions to complex regional and community challenges.
  • Ensure consistent, transparent communication among project partners, fostering alignment, accountability, and coordinated action across divisions and external stakeholders.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, managing sensitive information and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
