Cimarron Telephone in Mannford, OK is looking to add a Field Technician to our team!


Job Summary and Objectives:


Field Technician level I is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of in-home telephone and broadband systems. This role requires working both inside and outside homes and businesses, performing tasks such as pulling and terminating cables, conducting installations, and testing equipment to ensure service quality.


Essential Job Functions:

Install, terminate, and test telephone and broadband systems within homes and businesses.

Repair copper and fiber issues in the home and perform installation prework.

Pull, run, and terminate cables (Cat5, coaxial, twisted pair, optical fiber) in attics, crawlspaces, walls, and other areas.

Troubleshoot and resolve broadband and telephone service issues using test equipment (Layer 1 copper test set, broadband test sets).

Isolate and repair mainline issues in copper, including splicing. Isolate some fiber mainline issues.

Provide preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs as needed.

Conduct cable splicing and ensure familiarity with color codes for fiber and telephone cables.

Subject to on-call

Pole Climbing certified and/or training will be required.

DC Plant maintenance

Providing excellent customer service by following the company's customer service standards. Ownership, Professionalism, Troubleshooting, keeping customers informed, and providing customers with an experience beyond their expectations.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Competencies:

Basic knowledge of telecommunications systems.

Familiarity with broadband testing equipment and hand tools.

Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Ability to operate a Phone, PC, or Laptop.


Physical and Mental Requirements:


Physical Requirements:

o While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb ladders or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

o Ability to ascend and descend utility pole using means other than a ladder, such as body belt and pole climbers.

o Must be able to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces, and at heights up to 40 feet.

o Requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling.


Mental Requirements:

o Ability to solve problems quickly and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

Certification/License Requirements:

Current and valid driver's license is required.

On the job training will be provided to achieve the requirements of the position, such as pole climbing certifications.


Work Environment:

o Ability to work in varied weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain).


Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.
