Job description

Overview

The Internet/Data Installation Technician provides installation and customer support for Viaero's home internet products and home phone services within your region. You can combine your excellent customer service skills with your strong technical skills and work within a dynamic team of professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform setup of Internet and/or phone services at customer premises, providing the best in customer service.
  • Verify residential customer’s internet connection.
  • Install external antennas and cabling, as needed.
  • Perform troubleshooting for internet service issues.
  • Coordinate with schedulers with regard to responding to Trouble Tickets (customer issues) in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with schedulers for appointments, and communicate with customers regarding arrival time.
  • Maintain adequate supplies on service truck to complete required task efficiently.
  • Update and program data devices, as required.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old, have a High School diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. An Associate’s or Vocational degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Able to work outside in various extreme weather conditions
  • Must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, which include a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and substance screening, following federal law
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Windows-based systems and PCs, including networking setup and testing.
  • Understanding of electronic cabling and connections.
  • Experience with construction and hand tools
  • Physically and mentally able to climb onto rooftops, and able to work in a safe manner from both rooftops and ladders.
  • Able to travel to locations requiring an overnight stay.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and other varied shifts, as assigned, and rotating on-call.
