Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Direct Observation Unit position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Florida, requiring strong vasoactive drip experience and PCU background.

Details
  • Works in a Medical/Telemetry Clinical Decision Unit (2 East) within a 332-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45โ€“07:15)
  • Telemetry and PCU/step-down patient population
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • Floating required to all 3 system hospitals within approximately 20 miles (Martin North, Martin South, and Martin Tradition)
  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
  • Active FL or Compact RN license required โ€” no pending licenses accepted
  • Current certifications required: AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
  • Minimum 18 months of telemetry and/or acute care experience required; 2 years preferred
  • PCU experience required
  • Strong vasoactive drip experience required
  • Proficiency in telemetry skills including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two supervisory references (direct supervisor, manager, ANM, or director) required for consideration
  • Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
  • 26-week contract โ€” length is non-negotiable
  • This is a smoke-free facility; all candidates must be nicotine-free โ€” a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) is required
  • EKG and pharmacology tests are administered during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts each โ€” travelers who do not pass will be cancelled; study materials are provided
  • Time-sensitive online modules must be completed prior to start and are non-billable (average 6โ€“15 hours)
  • Former permanent or per diem employees of Cleveland Clinic must have an end date at least 1 year prior to the start of this assignment
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront โ€” RTO requests added after submission will likely not be approved
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
