Job description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team:

Join a global engineering organization supporting advanced power, mobility, and digital technology solutions. This team is focused on connected-vehicle capabilities, telematics validation, OTA software updates, and cloud-to-device integration for complex engine and vehicle systems. The environment is technical, collaborative, and quality-driven, with a strong emphasis on reliable validation, clear documentation, and cross-functional support from development through release.

What's In Store For You:

Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)

This is an onsite opportunity in Columbus, Indiana, supporting hands-on telematics and embedded validation work. The schedule is generally 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility within standard business hours. This role offers the opportunity to work across embedded systems, telematics devices, vehicle communication protocols, backend/cloud integration, and test automation in a structured engineering environment.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Own end-to-end validation execution for telematics, connected services, OTA updates, and data-acquisition features.
  • Execute normal, negative, and edge-case test scenarios across embedded devices, ECMs, telematics hardware, and backend/cloud systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues using CAN/J1939/UDS logs, device behavior, backend workflows, and test evidence.
  • Build or improve automation scripts and tools that increase test efficiency and expand validation coverage.
  • Document test results, defects, coverage, and reusable test artifacts within a Product Lifecycle Management system.
  • Communicate test progress, risks, blockers, and critical technical issues to project stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Support integration of digital solutions from development through release while maintaining strong validation standards.

Do you bring proven success in telematics validation and connected-vehicle testing?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Advanced experience with telematics, connected-vehicle validation, OTA software-update workflows, and connected-services testing.
  • Strong embedded or device validation experience, including end-to-end test execution, issue debugging, and validation support across complex projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, and UDS.
  • Hands-on experience using CANalyzer and/or PCAN tools for message analysis, simulation, troubleshooting, and log interpretation.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms and backend services such as Azure or AWS, especially as they relate to end-to-end integration testing.
  • Intermediate automation experience, including scripting or tool development to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Experience working within Agile practices, including sprint-based testing, defect tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Ability to create clear test evidence, technical documentation, defect records, and reusable validation artifacts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to engineering partners, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience improving validation processes, building reusable test frameworks, creating dashboards, or supporting cloud-to-device telematics architecture.
