Job description

Join our Team as a TELEMATICS ARCHITECT!

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Telematics Architect to join our team. In this role, you'll provide architectural leadership for TMHNA's MyInsights and iWarehouse telematics platforms. This role is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the end-to-end enterprise architecture across our telematics ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a strong leadership presence, hands-on experience in architectural delivery, and the ability to elevate the role of architecture in digital transformation and enterprise strategy.

You will have responsibility spanning embedded IoT devices, cloud platforms, data pipelines, integrations, connectivity, and enterprise consumption. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic technical authority, ensuring architectural coherence across both product lines while enabling scalability, security, interoperability, and innovation.

This role does not have direct people management responsibility but carries enterprise-wide architectural authority.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Champion scalable, secure, API-driven and event-driven architectures to support both telematics solutions and various customer deployment methodologies.
  • Own and evolve the end-to-end architecture for MyInsights and iWarehouse across all technology aspects, ensuring architectural consistency, reuse, and interoperability across both telematics product lines.
  • Lead the development and communication of a 3 to 5-year telematics enterprise architectural roadmap, including product strategy, data platform initiatives, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the architectural authority for all telematics-related initiatives, leading solution design reviews and architectural governance processes.
  • Define and enforce architecture principles, standards, and reusable design patterns for both telematics solutions and the underlying IoT technologies.
  • Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and lifecycle concerns across products.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and architectural knowledge sharing across product teams.
  • Guide and coordinate the development architecture for all components of the end-to-end telematics solution including hardware, software, and API-driven integrations across internal, external, and 3rd-party development teams.
  • Guide architectural decisions around telematics data models and governance, including correlation of data from multiple underlying subsystems, affecting customer vehicle controls and analytical outcomes.
  • Lead alignment of telematics architecture with enterprise strategic priorities, capability-based planning, and digital transformation objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships between IT and business leadership acting as a technical bridge to translate business and product strategy into clear architectural outcomes without constraining innovation.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise and platform architecture design, with deep exposure to distributed, data-intensive systems.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting IoT hardware and software, telematics and connected product platforms at enterprise scale including related communication mediums (Wifi, Cellular, Bluetooth).
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture practices, including cloud platforms (Azure), integration patterns (APIs, event streaming), data architectures, security and identity for connected systems.
  • Proven ability to lead architectural strategy, governance, and design across complex, multi-product environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience applying architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, SAFe, or similar in an agile or product-centric environment.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience supporting industrial equipment, material handling or automotive-adjacent telematics platforms.
  • Experience in a large-scale digital transformation environment.
  • Exposure to AI/ML, predictive analytics, IoT device management, or edge computing.
  • Understanding of dealer, customer, and aftermarket service ecosystems.

Where and When You'll Work:

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule and can be located at either our Columbus, IN or Greene, NY locations. Collaborate in person Monday through Wednesday and work remotely Thursday and Friday.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$118,590 - $152,040 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.

World Class Benefits:

  • Generous Paid Time Off and 13 Paid Holidays
  • Affordable Medical plans and no-cost Dental & Vision options
  • 100% 401(k) match up to 6%
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability
  • Tuition Assistance Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to mental health care, legal support, and financial guidance
