Job Description

Teledyne Controls LLC is seeking a dynamic and results-driven OEM & Government Sales Director to join our team. As a senior member of our customer-facing team, you will shape and execute strategies to increase demand for our suite of avionic and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions across new, existing government customers and Tier 1/2 OEM's.

This role blends sales, business development, and program oversight for a critical part of our business. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in complex defense sales cycles, outstanding relationship-building for government and avionics Tier 1/2 OEM customers, and a proven track record of securing multi-million-dollar contracts with DoD and government aviation stakeholders. We are looking for a self-motivated professional to spearhead customer engagement, capture new opportunities, and own the full life cycle pursuit of large-scale programs – from initial bid identification/positioning to contract award and delivery alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy/Business Development

  • Oversee direct sales development activities for new business opportunities with both domestic and foreign government agencies.
  • Develop and drive growth strategy to build our relationship with Tier 1 and 2 OEM's.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies for our government and OEM business es.
  • Educate customers on Teledyne solutions and build compelling business cases for adoption.
  • Lead opportunity capture and proposal efforts for complex avionics and SaaS solutions to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets.
  • Understand Government funding and procurement processes and incorporate them into our bidding strategies.
  • Generate market analysis and relevant insights to support the business.
  • Introduce new solutions and technologies into government and OEM markets.

Customer Engagement

  • Serve as the face of Teledyne to the customer and their voice internally.
  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain relationships with U.S. and foreign military/government and OEM customers.
  • Identify customer needs, create tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process for our solutions.
  • Build, expand, and maintain senior-level relationships across key defense programs. Including stakeholders in procurement agencies.
  • Serve as brand ambassador and represent Teledyne at industry meetings, trade shows, and briefings.
  • Capture and share market intelligence, including competitor insights and customer feedback.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Program Management Support

  • Coordinate closely with Teledyne's business development, engineering, contracts, program management, pricing, and other support teams to win and execute on key opportunities.
  • Lead contract requirements and pricing negotiations.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to attain and maintain government security clearance.
  • Experience in U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and foreign military procurement and sales. International government entities a plus. Minimum 10 years of related experience selling or working with avionic and aircraft systems programs for military/government accounts.
  • Proven success in capturing and managing large-scale DoD/government contracts.
  • Familiarity or experience with the U.S Armed Forces and Department of Defense (DoD) federal contractors and the aerospace, defense, or commercial aviation industry.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and FAR/DFARS compliance.
  • Domestic and occasional international travel is required (up to 50% travel).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, technical or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and business acumen.
  • Effective communicator and negotiator with executive presence.
  • Ability to develop networks and contacts to facilitate domestic and international military/government sales.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and forecasting tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Salary Range: $120,300.00-$160,400.00
