The University Corporation is a nonprofit auxiliary corporation providing commercial and administrative services to California State University, Northridge. Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, this position will provide programming support for water safety and boating, including customer service, participant supervision, facility and program safety, equipment and facility cleaning, launching/operating vessels, and providing basic program facilitation/instruction.

Organize, set up, break down, inspect, clean, and repair equipment for boating and water safety programming. Ensure participant safety and facilitate their water safety and boating knowledge and skill development. Operate vehicles and tow vessels on trailers; launch vessels from beach or ramp, and operate vessels in open water settings. Learn and become proficient in canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, power boat operation, participant rescue, and general boating safety knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. Aquatic/Boating knowledge is a plus. Must be able to effectively work in an environment that will involve exposure to sun, wind, heat/cold, inclement weather, sand, water, and other outdoor elements. Must keep certifications current: Lifeguard Training or Water Safety Instructor: American Red Cross or comparable entity; First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer: American Red Cross or comparable entity. 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

Schedule: VARIES BASED ON MANAGER'S NEED

Full Pay range: $19-$25

Hiring range: $19-$25

Time Base: Part-Time- 10 to 29 hours per week
