Job description

Position: Operations Engineer II - AMZ23665.3
Location: Seattle, WA
Multiple Positions Available:
Build, improve, and innovate order fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale fulfillment network. Manage, support, and drive implementation of large-scale programs across multiple fulfillment building types, also collaborating with internal and external design teams of conveyor systems. Material handling elements may include high-speed sortation, multiple conveyor subsystems, package lines and/or robotic work cells. Evaluate issues and propose actionable resolutions to design and execution problems. Identify and communicate opportunities for design and specification improvements. Monitor and enforce project schedules and contractual obligations with vendors or subcontractors. Lead and coordinate design and execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layouts. Develop and simplify processes and tools to improve execution efficiency across multiple programs. Contribute to implementation of ideas and methods to improve overall system performance. Drive standards and consistency across North America execution projects. Develop and coordinate budget trackers and contract documents including RFPs, Milestone Trackers, Vendor Commissioning schedules, and Amazon Qualification schedules. Build strong working relationships with Operations teams across multiple business units as well as their Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Worldwide Engineering, and Process Engineering stakeholders. Build strong working relationships with FC/SC leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders. Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in support of operations teams within a geographic node. Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team. Excel at developing good working relationships with vendors, engineers, managers, and peers. Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout. Efficiently manage budget documents, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing. 100% telecommuting permitted; work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in job offered, industrial engineering, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, project engineer, or related occupation. Experience must include: 1. 2 years of experience utilizing AutoCAD to design and construct projects. 2. 2 years of experience utilizing analytical tools to design data charts and graphs including strategic layout design and planning. 3. 2 years of experience leading cross-functional operations teams to provide design input and management techniques. 4. 2 years of experience reporting and presenting engineering analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
The pay range for this position in Seattle, WA is $86708 - $114900 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
