About the role and team 

Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key leader within our Global Accounting Team, moving beyond basic bookkeeping to manage complex financial landscapes at a global scale. You will lead a team of Senior Accountants to ensure the integrity of our month-end close and internal controls, acting as a bridge between digital financial systems and real-world business impact.

The pace here is intense and the stakes are high, requiring a mindset that thrives on ambiguity and a drive to challenge the status quo. You'll need to balance technical precision with the agility to lead automation and process improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams like FinTech and Tax. This role is for someone who takes extreme ownership of their work, stays resilient through shifting priorities, and is motivated by the opportunity to build scalable, world-class accounting processes.

Rate of Pay:                 $298,022 to $357,626 per Year

What you'll do 

  • Oversee intercompany accounting processes. 
  • This includes month-end close by reviewing transactional intercompany system output as a basis for the intercompany balance settlement process, netting, settlement approvals, reviews, and signing off on monthly account reconciliations and TP flux analysis. 
  • Manage intercompany transactions between different legal entities and ensure accurate recording of these transactions in financial systems like iCAN (Intercompany Accounting & Netting Tool). 
  • Responsible for frequently updating and adherence to the global Intercompany Accounting Policy, which includes procedures for managing transfer pricing, elimination, and reconciliation across controlled entities. 
  • Standardize change management requests, initiate ticket tracking, review gaps and submit intercompany system accounting requirements and review/help perform user acceptance testing. 
  • Supervise at least 1 Accountant / 13-2011; Accountants and Auditors. 
  • May telecommute.
     

Basic Qualifications 

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Accounting or related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 
  • Position requires: 
    • Fundamental accounting concepts, principles, tax, and reporting processes and requirements in a multi-currency international environment;
    • Communicating key information and status to stakeholders;
    • Analyzing large and complex data sets using MS Excel;
    • Experience in system implementation or upgrades;
    • Experience in transfer pricing and intercompany accounting;
    • Experience in international tax concepts.
