Subcontractor Manager (Telecommunications)

Location: On-site (Office-Based)
Travel: Up to 5%

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Subcontractor Manager to support the growth and operational success of our organization. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, onboarding, and managing subcontractors and suppliers within the telecommunications space. You will play a key role in building strong partnerships, ensuring compliance, and driving sourcing strategies that keep the business competitive in a fast-moving market.

This is a fully on-site position requiring collaboration with internal teams and occasional travel.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement long-term subcontractor sourcing strategies
  • Lead the prequalification process, including internal and external vetting of subcontractors
  • Create and manage a structured, efficient onboarding process
  • Monitor industry trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategies
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships to support performance and accountability
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve optimal value
  • Partner with operations and support teams to select, evaluate, and track subcontractor performance
  • Support estimating and pricing efforts using market data and historical insights
  • Assist with drafting formal subcontractor communications and notices
  • Review and approve weekly subcontractor invoices
  • Provide reporting and insights to executive leadership and business development teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors in a relevant industry
  • 5+ years of telecommunications experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of contract terms, vendor management, and sourcing strategies
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and negotiations in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence outcomes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer or phone
  • Frequent communication via phone, video, and in person
  • Occasional travel (up to 5%)
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
