The Team You Will Be Joining
You will be joining the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), a fast-paced, collaborative technology agency powered by dedicated professionals who serve as the cornerstone of public sector technology in Texas. Working within the Chief Operations Office and CCTS Work Orders & Directory Services team, you will collaborate with highly motivated experts committed to delivering secure, modern, and cost-effective technology across the state.
Major Duties
  • Serve as the primary account liaison for assigned state agencies regarding all CCTS enterprise voice and directory services.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and process complex client work orders from initial submission through service completion.
  • Assign tracking and Telephone Service Request (TSR) numbers via proprietary database systems (Net Plus) and communicate completion timelines to agency partners.
  • Execute move, add, change, and disconnect (MACD) requests within Cisco enterprise telephony systems and central tele-management systems (CTS).
  • Update division billing codes, process voicemail provisioning, reset passwords, and maintain active directory databases.
  • Manage multiple phone lines, direct calls efficiently, and utilize standard enterprise office equipment (copiers, printers, fax machines) to support daily administrative workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance to isolate and resolve administrative or telecom-related issues, following established escalation paths when necessary.
What are we looking for?
  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience working in telecommunications, data management, or enterprise IT operational environments.
  • Core Telecom Knowledge: Practical understanding of foundational telecommunications principles, voice services, and line routing.
  • Technical & Software Skills: Hands-on experience navigating Cisco database software and specialized telecommunications management databases (Net Plus, CTS, or equivalent enterprise inventory tools).
  • Operational Readiness: Comfort managing multi-line phone systems and utilizing standard physical office hardware (printers, copiers, fax machines).

  • Rate: $38.00 / hour
  • Length of Engagement: 1 Year Contract (Long-term extension outlook funded through 4 years; Start Date: September 1st)
  • Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours
  • Location: Hybrid (On-site required in Downtown Austin, TX area — 78701)
