SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for project managing the deployment of new fiber-based telecommunications networks in one or more geographical locations, overseeing the estimating, design, engineering, and construction processes, including managing the costs and schedule of the overall project(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: What will you be doing?

  • Defining comprehensive plans for large, complex, highly technical projects that cover the following: phased delivery plan; resource requirements; project costs, project schedule; risk assessment and mitigation; expense and capital budget requirements; resource structure and accountability matrix; project governance and reporting.
  • Responsible for in-scope, on schedule, on budget delivery. Establish the appropriate project/team structure, reporting and metrics to measure, monitor performance against plan, reporting regular status updates to customers, superiors, executives and key strategic stakeholders.
  • Leading the end-to-end solution deployment. Covering everything from the network architecture, process and system solutions, construction methodologies, material selection, acquisition and handling, field installation activities, project acceptance activities, training requirements, operational hand-over activities, etc.
  • Responsible for implementing the corporate and organizational specific health and safety policies and procedures, as well as the safe working behaviors of our vendors and suppliers.
  • Building a partnership model, as the team may include company employees from various outside departments as well as outside contractors and engineering firms and must establish and drive clear accountability for all team members and create an environment that enables high performance from the team.
  • On-time delivery of projects to scope, budget, and other constraints.
  • Align resources; manage issues, risks and all project deliverables.
  • Coordinate financial management controls (from order-to-bill) and additional assurance needs considering all stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overseeing Engineering and Construction vendors, material vendors, and suppliers.

COMPETENCIES: What do you bring to the team?

  • Proficient in observing safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • 5 years of Telecom engineering and construction experience in ISP and OSP with experience in builds of MDU and/or SMB projects preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, certifications, or relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid, unrestricted drivers license
  • Ability to speak/write in Spanish and other languages is desirable but not required.
  • Proficient in technology-related skills, including knowledge of Internet Software; Microsoft Office Suite, Design Software (Visio, Vetro, others); GIS Software; Sitetracker; and Project Management and Financial Software (Netsuite)
  • Established expertise in communicating changes and progress; consistently completes projects on time and within budget.
  • Continuously building knowledge and skills.
