Job description

Ontivity, LLC seeks a Telecommunication Tower & Site Development Engineer for its Houston location who will be responsible for modeling and analysis of existing telecommunication structures, including monopole towers, self-support towers, stealth structures, and guyed towers, power and utility poles, water tanks, rooftops, and custom mounts; perform data collection on existing telecom structures, including structural mapping of towers, structural mapping of water tanks, and structural mapping of existing building rooftops; guide crews in the field to obtain necessary data for modeling; design structural modifications to bring telecommunication facilities into code compliance; design and modify deep concrete foundation structures, including micropile design, helical anchorage, and dead man anchorage; create site designs for new telecommunication installations, including grading, retaining walls, roadway design, and stormwater management; interpret geotechnical design data for soil interaction of the foundations supporting structures over 500 feet; assist subcontractors in obtaining necessary GPR or soil testing data; provide guidance to construction crews in the installation of structural modifications and troubleshoot field issues, including geotechnical, concrete, steel, welding, and fit-up issues; assist in the permitting process. Occasional travel to field sites as needed, less than 10% of the time. Must be familiar with local telecommunication development standards. Requires a bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering, plus 36 months of experience in telecom tower and mount modeling, analysis, and design. Licensed Professional Engineer designation required. Must be able to obtain Structural Engineering License within one year. Must be able to obtain certification as a tower climber and high-angle rescue. Must have experience with ANSI/TIA-222 REVs F, G, H, and I; ACI concrete design code; AISC steel codes; D-structural welding codes; TNX Tower, RISA 3D, and OCalc; Tower Rigging Processes and Software; IBC and ASCE for wind, seismic, and telecommunication provisions for all 50 states.
