Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. They review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. The Project Manager assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply established principles, theories, and concepts to develop solutions that align with current industry practices and standards.

  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Work under general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

  • Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally be detected in supervisory oversight.

  • Interact frequently with internal company contacts such as immediate supervisor, and other personnel in the section or group. Act as the representative of your section or group on specific projects. Apply industry practices, techniques, and standards-leveraging core concepts and principles-to execute moderately complex professional tasks.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and one year working in industry. An additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; master's degree and 0 years' experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • Experience in project management/ execution and closeout.

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).

  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.

  • Experience with tools and systems for planning, scheduling, and managing projects.

  • Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication to small groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification.

  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

  • Understanding and application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

  • Excel Proficiency.

  • Experience with drafting a project plan or roadmap.

  • Experience using SAP, Windows software packages, Atlassian Tool Suite, and other electronic databases.

  • Proficient in Agile Development.


Primary Level Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $81,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
