Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform specialized analysis of complex survey data provided by third-party surveyors to identify subtle engineering risks and inform highly specific pre-construction planning adjustments for telecom site development
  • Execute confirmatory calculations using established engineering principles and specialized software to validate specific critical elements of third-party structural designs for telecom installations against predefined project specifications and code requirements
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of civil/structural design packages prepared by external parties, focusing exclusively on constructability, adherence to specialized telecom client requirements, and integration of safety-in-design principles, without assuming design responsibility
  • Analyze data from traffic impact studies or environmental condition assessments conducted by specialist consultants to identify potential constraints on telecom project site access, construction logistics, or environmental mitigation needs, and report findings to project teams.
  • Develop and implement project-specific quality control checklists derived from engineering specifications and regulatory standards, to be utilized for verification during telecom infrastructure deployment.
  • Perform detailed environmental risk assessments for proposed telecom construction sites using established protocols, focusing on identifying site-specific hazards and contributing to the documentation of mitigation strategies outlined in project environmental plans.
  • Analyze results performed by third-party agencies to ensure strict adherence to project design criteria and quality benchmarks; document and escalate non-conformities.
  • Compile technical data and prepare preliminary drafts of specific sections for environmental impact assessments or complex regulatory compliance reports related to telecom projects, under the direction of senior staff or licensed professionals.
  • Investigate and provide detailed engineering analysis regarding technical problems or unforeseen site condition variances encountered during construction that may impact design integrity, and propose narrowly-defined, technically viable options for resolution to the Project Manager.
  • Research, analyze, and report on the application of sustainable construction materials and energy-efficient design principles relevant to telecom infrastructure projects, providing technical findings to design and project teams for consideration.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical database of approved materials, critical equipment specifications, and evolving regulatory compliance documentation for telecom projects, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Technical investigation reports following site reviews, material non-conformance analyses, or specialized design reviews, presenting objective findings, complex data interpretations, and specific recommendations for corrective actions or process improvements for internal engineering and project management review
  • Serve as a dedicated technical engineering liaison to resolve highly complex, interdisciplinary technical queries between external design consultants, specialty testing agencies, and internal project teams, focusing on the interpretation of advanced engineering specifications and emerging industry standards.
  • Develop focused cost and quantity analyses for highly specialized engineering services or alternative materials necessitated by unforeseen site conditions or client-driven design modifications during later project phases, utilizing specific cost databases and value engineering principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or equivalent or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience performing project engineering duties involving analysis, oversight, and technical coordination in the construction industry, related to telecommunications,
    utility, or similar infrastructure projects.
  • 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • 1 year of experience with OSHA.
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
