Description

Position Summary: The Telecom Technician Lead will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
  • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
  • Oversee and coordinate any subcontractors work that may be working under the Telecom department
  • Coordinate equipment and specialty material deliveries and stagging requirements
  • Establish work completion and punch lists in accordance with established Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs
  • Ensure the necessary equipment and materials are always available to maximize productivity
  • Lead helpers or apprentices in appropriate tasks
  • Installs cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials
  • Install relays, cabinets, network switches
  • Terminates data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables
  • Install cable trays above and below floors
  • Ability to work in small spaces
  • Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer and fiber test equipment

Qualifications

  • Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers

  • Participate in site housekeeping
