At Star Construction, LLC, as an Operator of Telecom Aerial Equipment, you will operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to install, maintain, and repair telecom infrastructure. Your role involves ensuring precision and safety while working on overhead fiber and telecom lines, supporting routine operations and emergency response efforts.

What you'll do
  • Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and other telecom equipment at job sites and during transit
  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber optic and telecommunications lines while following industry standards
  • Perform general construction tasks, include lifting materials up to 50 pounds and using hand tools
  • Follow directions to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations
  • Restore work areas by securing poles, managing cables, and ensuring proper alignment of telecom lines
  • Travel for emergency response efforts with minimal notice, assisting with network restoration
  • Identify utility conflicts and ensure proper clearance for aerial telecom installations
  • Review and adhere to minimum approach distances for working near electrical infrastructure
  • Maintain positive work relationships with internal teams, contractors, and utility partners
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure efficient project execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver's license with a minimum of two years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record
  • Six months of supervised aerial telecom equipment operation experience
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Capable of working safely in all weather conditions, including high winds and extreme temperatures
  • Strong self-starter with effective communication skills
