Job overview:

The Team Lead oversees one of four rotating 12-hour shifts, running in a 24/7 (7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am) fiber optic cable manufacturing plant. The team lead keeps safety and quality standards and ensures that production goals are met with work being performed in compliance with company policy and regulations.

Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

Deliver production objectives and make quality decisions on shift.

Execute shift operations plan by process area, focusing on ware movement and production priorities.

Re-assign staffing resources based on current requirements or changes.

Manage MRR queue.

Track, evaluate, and develop individual operator performance.

Prepare and deliver end of shift turnover meetings.

Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant's Quality Management Systems

Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

Conduct month end inventory counts as needed.

Serve on the site spill team, as leader of the plant evacuation team, and as a first responder.

Who are we looking for?

HS Diploma or equivalent - required. AS Degree - preferred.

At least two (2) years of progressive management experience - required.

Experience in manufacturing environments- preferred.

Management experience in the optical fiber cabling industry - preferred.

Must be quality and customer focused, versatile and enjoys interaction with customers and other visitors.

Motivated Team Player - participate and contribute to a constructive working environment.

Demonstrate administrative aptitude, time management skills, and ability to multi-task.

Capable of remaining calm & professional when dealing with stressful circumstances.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must have basic computer skills.
