Job description

SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER - KANSAS CITY, MO
The Select Group is seeking a Systems Implementation Engineer to lead the hands-on implementation of an IT Lab Automation and Asset Management solution within the customer's lab environment local to Kansas City. This is an onsite, execution-focused role responsible for configuring systems, building workflows, coordinating physical implementation activities, and driving day-to-day progress of the lab deployment.
The engineer will work under the direction of the Technical Program Manager and serve as the primary onsite resource responsible for translating implementation plans into working solutions across NetBox, Asset Panda, Jira, and related lab processes.
What You'll Bring
  • 4-8+ years in one or more of the following:
    • Systems implementation (required)
    • Technical operations
    • IT asset management
    • Infrastructure support
    • Lab / data center operations
  • Technical requirements
    • Expertise with API integration (SOAP/REST), DevOps, Linux administration
    • Jira automation and query language
    • Highly desired: skills with front end GUI dev and scripting (JavaScript)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • System configuration and administration
    • Inventory / asset management platforms
    • Workflow tools (Jira or similar)
    • Data cleanup / migration efforts
  • Experience working in:
    • Hardware, lab, telecom, network, or infrastructure environments
  • Strong comfort level with:
    • Physical + software implementation work combined
    • Ambiguous environments where processes are evolving
  • Independent execution with limited oversight

Bonus Experience
  • NetBox
  • Asset Panda (or similar asset systems)
  • Jira workflow administration
  • Barcode / QR asset tracking systems
  • Telecom or network equipment environments
  • Rack / stack or lab hardware coordination
  • Basic scripting / automation experience (Python, PowerShell, etc.)

What You'll Do
  • Execute the approved implementation plan across lab systems and workflows
  • Configure and support NetBox, Asset Panda, Jira workflows
  • Build and maintain Asset Lifecycle states, Reservation/Assignment workflows and inventory management processes
  • Support integrations and data flow between systems
  • Perform data cleanup, migration, and validation from spreadsheets or legacy tracking tools
  • Maintain data accuracy across inventory, assignment, and lifecycle systems
  • Coordinate technical changes with TPM and SMEs as needed
  • Test new workflows and configurations before rollout
  • Support user adoption and training for new processes
  • Document configurations, SOPs, and support procedures
  • Work under direction of the TPM for priorities, milestones, and execution cadence
  • Partner with senior technical architecture resources to validate design decisions and resolve complex implementation issues.
  • Coordinate with onsite lab personnel for shared implementation tasks
  • Escalate architecture or complex technical decisions to senior SMEs as needed
  • Support successful handoff to steady-state operations
