Job description

Job Title: Senior Product Manager (Telecom Specialist) Location: Hybrid 4 Days onsite in Rocklin, CA or San Francisco, CA Duration: 6+ Months
Project Description:
In the role of Senior Product Manager for Telecom, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of circuits to our data centers, retail, and corporate locations worldwide. You will work with lead engineers, project managers, and leadership to deliver connectivity optimal for computing at each location. You will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of circuits throughout the organization, helping our organization minimize cost and maximizing performance, seeking out opportunities to improve throughout contract cycles. You will work directly with Site Installation Services and Engineering to coordinate timely installations.
Duties:

  • For project of diverse scope and complexity
  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide product and user experience solutions to meet the business needs
  • Develops high level business requirements and translates them into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications
  • Prepares requirements, specifications, business process, and recommendations
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in innovative and practical ways
  • Strong knowledge of product management best practices, functional design, and application delivery methodology
  • Understands basic project management methodology
  • Customer focused with high quality standards
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, business communication and writing skills
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • Strong decision-making capabilities will result in meeting schedules and/or functional goals of department/unit
  • Frequently interacts with customers, and/or functional peer group IC'S/managers, normally involving matters between department and other functional areas or internal customers
  • Regularly participates in a cooperative effort among members of a project team
  • May receive some instruction on day-to-day work, but receives general instructions on new assignments and areas of higher complexity.

Top Requirements:

  • Experience with ordering circuits, turning down the circuits working w/ vendors, etc. (MUST HAVE CIRCUIT LEVEL EXP)
  • Managing inventory
  • Very strong with Excel - not negotiable
  • Experience with queries for large databases
  • Being able to work with large amounts of data
  • Must be able to provide data on cost and how much things are costing the company to leadership
  • Access database experience
  • This person will be working with telecom carriers for provisioning
  • Experience with Carriers such as: AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast are a HUGE plus
  • Soft Skills are EXTREMELY important
