What are we looking for?

The Sales Representative position is responsible for direct sales activity within an assigned territory, identifying and developing new accounts leveraging Intertek's Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification (ATIC) solutions. We're looking for somebody who is self-sufficient with an entrepreneurial approach in their work. The Sales Representative will spend at least 50% of the time outside of the office visiting clients, attending trade shows, etc. Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive. This is a In-Office position - Not remote. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $65K-$80K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.  Our Sales Representatives are offered a base salary plus monthly incentive eligibility based on sales goals.

What you'll do:

  • Sell Intertek's ATIC services within assigned vertical, account and territory through effective client research, prospecting, and networking.
  • Meet with current and prospective customers face to face via client presentations and participation at trade shows.
  • Meet order and revenue quotas on a monthly basis.
  • Write and follow up on proposals, specify appropriate standards and pricing; Follow through on sales transactions to ensure a superior customer experience for every project.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Meet all KPI targets and log activity in to iConnect (CRM), as required.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts, as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • 1 year successful Outside Sales experience 
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license and reliable driving record
  • Close geographical proximity to Intertek Local Lab - This is an in-office position (not remote)
  • Exceptional ability to communicate and interact effectively in written, verbal written and presentation formats
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent administrative skills and ability to sit at a desk for hours within office hours
  • Experience with writing quotes within CRM and processing documents within various Software Systems
  • Able to meet required monthly KPI's and enter them efficiently and effectively within CRM
  • Must be positively energized and self-motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and to perform all clerical functions inherent to the position

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3 years of successful Outside Sales experience tied to a Sales Quota
  • Business to Business sales experience

  • Compliance or Testing Inspection Certification (TIC) industry experience (previous or current)
  • Knowledge of UL/CSA/IEC Standards
