*On-Call position, will reliably have 6-8 hours/week, primarily Friday/Saturday, additional as needed*

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Review admission notes and applications, identify at risk clients
  • Meet with new clients for initial assessment within first few days at Mn Adult & Teen Challenge
  • Meet individually with clients having health concerns/assess/ refer as needed/ treat
  • Manage medication issues identified during assessment or referred from staff or counselors
  • Consult with Program Managers, Program Directors & program staff regarding client physical/mental health issues
  • Document interactions with clients on data base
  • Respond to staff requests to see clients for medication and other health concerns
  • Responsible for destruction of medications
  • During screening, work w/admissions to perform nursing/mental health assessment and refer as appropriate
  • Assist with medication training for staff
  • Assist with health education for clients and staff as appropriate e.g. infection control, first aid
  • Teach CPR class for staff
  • Assist in providing Mantoux's to staff and clients
  • Assist in restocking first aid kits
  • Assist in re-supplying each building with OTC meds, medical/first aid supplies
  • Ongoing quality improvement of care provided for clients
  • Meet with supervising RN weekly
  • Send weekly end of week summary to supervisor
  • Enter all physical exams, Mantoux's and labs for clients into database
  • Enter nurse note for all health interactions with clients into database

Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  • RN or LPN
  • Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding hire.
  • Have and maintain current nursing licensure with the state of Minnesota.
  • Prefer 5 years of increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Ability to successfully complete background check process.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to model a lifestyle that is in compliance with Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge’s Code of Conduct
  • Maintain professional standards of conduct and appearance with co-workers and the public.
  • Exceptional ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines and frequent interruptions.

Target Compensation Range (Negotiable based on Qualifications):

LPN: $30.00-33.00/hour

RN: $33.00-35.00/hour
