Residential Youth Counselor/ Mental Health Worker New Alternatives, Inc. – Spring Valley, CA Are you interested in a rewarding career , where you can have a direct impact on teen girls who are struggling? New Alternatives, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency that is dedicated to healing the hearts of children and teens who have survived traumatic events throughout their lives. Our community based group home is located conveniently in Spring Valley. We are looking for creative, motivated, passionate and dedicated staff who can engage our vulnerable population of teen girls. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Actively engage SED teens in daily activities. Assist teens with daily living skills, self-esteem building and emotional regulation skills. Work with a skilled team to provide crisis intervention skills and de-escalate teens. Participate in ongoing training to build your knowledge base of how trauma impacts behaviors, de-escalation techniques, meditation strategies and behavior specific interventions. Qualifications/Requirements: BA/BS strongly preferred, if no degree, 1+ years experience with teens Experience with teens is a plus. What we offer employees: Various Shifts, days and programs available, FULL TIME benefits with 30 hour a week positions available!! Part Time is also offered at 20 hours a week.
