Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Lead Instructor to join our team 2 weekdays weekly 3-5PM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. As a Program Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging instructional content, facilitating discussions, and supporting student development. Your role will be vital in shaping the educational experiences of our participants. Under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Youth and Family Director, the instructor is responsible for planning, leading, and supporting high-quality youth afterschool programs at the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA. Free household YMCA membership for applicant hired.

Requirements:

This person must demonstrate the ability to work well with children ages 10-14 years of age. The instructor is responsible for managing the activities during class time. They must assume responsibility for all facilities, equipment, and supplies of the program. This person must lead with positivity and enthusiasm. This position has a primary impact on the YMCA youth and teen programs and all participants who enroll in it. This individual will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children while promoting the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Activities could include: 9 Square; LU Interactive Games; Rock Wall; Pickleball; Virtual Studio programming, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum age of 18 years old

CPR certification required within 60 days of hire

Must clear a background/criminal history check

Strong verbal communication skills

Ability to lead group activities and engage children of middle school ages and backgrounds.

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Complete four Praesidium courses prior to start date
