Job description

IT Solution Architect | Value Based Care IT & Analytics | Full Time

Candidates must be local to the State of Michigan. Position will have expectation to work onsite at times.

About the Role:
This Solution Architect role on the Value-Based Analytics team will design and deliver end-to-end analytics solutions, with responsibility for data quality, validation, and automation. Experience with Microsoft Fabric architectures (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and Semantic Models) is strongly preferred, along with exposure to value-based analytics environments.

Solution architecture is the process of developing solutions based on predefined processes, guidelines, and best practices with the objective that the developed solution fits within the enterprise architecture in terms of information architecture, system portfolios, integration requirements and many more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design: Own end-to-end technical designs for data pipelines, data warehouses, and semantic models tailored to value-based contracts.
  • Data Integration & Quality: Establish reliable ingestion patterns for disparate data sources like Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical claims, maintaining rigorous standards for data validation and automation.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a technical bridge between various clinical, finance, project management, and external vendors.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Owns the solution design deliverables in support of large complex I.T. Projects.
  • Design and implement Enterprise Architecture data assets - Project Design Assets, Technology Standards, Risks Tracking, Score Cards, SBARS, Technical Strategy, Quoting Templates, RFI Responses.
    • Manage Enterprise Architecture repository workflow including change management.
    • Enterprise Architecture repository annual audit/cleanup.
  • Own enterprise architecture standards lifecycle.
  • Ability to create formal executive level summaries and recommendations.
  • Ability to work well in a weak matrix environment is a must, collaborating closely with other technical architects will be a primary role for this position.
  • Ability to review complex IT infrastructure deliverables, provide direction, ensure concurrence between technical teams.
  • Stays current on technology trends, future releases, vendor roadmaps, product lifecycles. Recommends upgrades and new technology that can bring enhanced functionality, cost savings and reduced risk to Henry Ford Health.
  • Formally documents and raises all technology risks, work with functional architects and vendors to design, document, and implement exceptions to system standards. (i.e., software out of support, capacity issues, stability issues, security issues, nonstandard vendor requirements, etc.)
  • Mentor I.T. Architects and System Engineers. Create learning opportunities and work with Engineers to map out career paths into the Architecture space.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 15+ Years IT Experience.

Ten plus (10+) years of IT experience.

  • Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in cloud data platforms (such as Microsoft Fabric) alongside tools like SQL, Python, and BI visualization platforms.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data interoperability, medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and alternative payment/risk models.
  • Must act as a technical leader in all aspects of the role. Must be able to set aside personal opinions and vendor loyalties to design standards and solutions that provide safe and reliable I.T. solutions to the health care system.
  • Must have a general understanding of all I.T. systems and the ability to speak to technical solutions with all levels of leadership.
  • Must be able to act as a natural moderator between I.T. Architects, Vendors, and industry experts on debated topics.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Technical Certifications preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
