Materials Program Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Materials Program Manager to lead and coordinate all aspects of material planning, procurement, and logistics in support of large-scale manufacturing projects. This role is critical to ensuring that the right materials are sourced, delivered, and available at the right time to meet demanding project schedules. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in supply chain coordination and project-driven material management within complex manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all material flow related to large projects, acting as an expeditor to track and ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive material strategies that align with project timelines and production milestones.
  • Monitor and expedite the movement of materials from suppliers through to delivery, proactively resolving delays or supply issues.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, production, and engineering teams to align material needs with production schedules.
  • Manage and continuously improve inventory control processes, ensuring materials are available without excess or shortages.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring timely and quality material deliveries.
  • Track and report key performance indicators such as material readiness, lead times, supplier performance, and project fulfillment metrics.
  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems to manage material requirements and ensure real-time visibility of inventory and delivery status.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of planners, coordinators, and warehouse staff to execute on material logistics goals.
  • Support cost containment initiatives and drive process improvements in procurement and material flow.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in materials management, expediting, or supply chain operations supporting large manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of material tracking, expediting, and supplier coordination.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • APICS/CPIM or PMP certification is a plus.
