Job description

Job Summary:

The EPLAN Developer is responsible for developing new content, tools, and technologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of control panel design and manufacturing. This role will spend most of the time advancing EPLAN initiatives and emerging technologies, while maintaining a small connection to day-to-day project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of the EPLAN software and new technologies by reviewing specifications, add-ins, and integration capabilities with other Interstates systems and tools.
  • Interpret data from the model to drive efficiency in design and planning by increasing accuracy of design and access to information.
  • Maintain and update EPLAN standards and SOPs by reviewing best practices and collaborating with design teams.
  • Train the team in new standards and procedures by working with the EPLAN team and other project leaders.
  • Network with industry leaders to propose new techniques and tools, prove use, or expand existing processes by attending events, vendor activities, webinars, and conducting research.
  • Track development priorities and accomplishments.
  • Work with the standards coaches to update procedures and hold the team accountable to existing standards.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in EPLAN practices for electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with leaders on developing the EPLAN skillset on the team.
  • Review active projects to ensure standards and best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with IT on storage management, hardware, and software requirements.
  • Assist the EPLAN team in developing examples of Interstates EPLAN capabilities.
  • Actively assist with projects as time is available, staying current on deliverable standards and best practices.

Experience and Education: Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical college, or completion of a 4-year degree program in a related field. 3-5 years of drafting experience. 3 or more years of experience using EPLAN. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Travel: Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Generally, travel should not exceed 15% of your time

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $70,040 to $87,550+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.
