The Modernization Program Director is accountable for the strategic leadership, governance and successful delivery of the global end-to-end ERP implementation and business modernization initiatives, applying an enterprise-wide lens to design and execution This role ensures strong alignment between enterprise business strategy, technology execution and change management while actively managing program risk, budget, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
The Director serves as the single point of accountability on the business side of the ERP program and is a trusted partner to executive leadership, business owners, and Corporate IT. This role is critical to enabling operational excellence, scalable growth and business modernization across the enterprise.
The Director will lead stabilization, optimization and long-term value realization, ensuring ERP is fully embedded in daily operations and consistently delivers sustained business outcomes. The role will also lead additional modernization activities required by the operating group.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Governance
  • Own and lead the end-to-end ERP program for the Commercial Aircraft Group, from planning and design through go-live and post-implementation stabilization applying an enterprise-wide lens.
  • Ensure alignment with the enterprise business strategy, operating models and architecture to design principles and working assumptions throughout the process.
  • Serve as a decision-maker for business process topics throughout the ERP program lifecycle.
  • Define Key Program Metrics (KPIs) and socialize across all functions.
  • Lead, Manage and develop the CAG ERP team to ensure clear communication, process ownership, data readiness and cost & schedule including:
    • CAG ERP Business Process Champion Team
    • Organizational Change Management (OCM) Office
    • Program Management Office (PMO)
    • Finance Manager
    • ERP Data Lead team
    • Drive disciplined scope management, issue resolution and decision making.

Business Partnership & Strategy
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with CAG division and business unit leadership to understand strategic financial, manufacturing, and operational priorities.
  • Provide clear, concise and transparent communications to executive stakeholders on status, financials, risks and outcomes.
  • Define, own, and drive future-state business processes, ensuring standardization and scalability across global operations.
  • Align ERP process design with corporate standards, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Steering Committee, with accountability for escalating risks, issues and decisions as required.

Process Design & System Integration
  • Lead collaboration with business leaders to gather, document, and validate requirements for ERP (including SAP, MES, PLM, and production financial planning systems).
  • Oversee the implementation, testing, and deployment of ERP integrations.
  • Ensure end-to-end process integration supporting manufacturing execution, product lifecycle management, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage vendors and consultants as needed.
  • Ensure data cleansing practices are consistently applied and aligned across the enterprise.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication
  • Act as the primary liaison between IT, Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and business operating groups.
  • Facilitate communication on active initiatives, operational needs, risks, decisions, and enhancement requests.
  • Partner with Corporate IT ERP teams to ensure alignment with broader organization's enterprise architecture, standards, and delivery outcome objectives.

Change Management & Adoption
  • Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures enabled by ERP.
  • Own benefits tracking and value realization for ERP through KPIs.
  • Oversight of adoption metrics, readiness indicators and change KPI's
  • Support change management, training, and user adoption strategies to ensure successful system transition and business modernization.
  • Provide oversight of testing phases and ensure formal business acceptance.
  • Support troubleshooting of cross-system issues and drive continuous improvement post go-live.

Continuous Improvement
  • Own the multi-year ERP roadmap, identifying future phases, enhancements, and advanced capabilities (e.g., advanced planning, analytics, automation, digital manufacturing).
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and improve efficiency through enhanced integration and utilization of ERP tools (SAP, MES, PLM, and planning tools).
  • Monitor industry trends and evolving technology capabilities to recommend innovations aligned with business strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on ERP-enabled modernization opportunities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in program management or large-scale modernization initiatives or projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product lifecycle management, and production planning.
  • Proven ability to bridge technical and business perspectives with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project and change management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and complex initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong knowledge of MES, PLM, and financial planning system integrations.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $225,000.00-$285,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
