Job description

Job Title: Technology Officer
we are seeking for a Technology officer for  a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating all forms of human trafficking and empowering survivors through awareness, education, advocacy, and direct support. We work to raise awarenessprovide expert-led training, and offer essential assistance to individuals and organizations committed to ending human trafficking. Our mission is to create sustainable, technology-driven solutions that address the complex challenges of trafficking while promoting survivor-centered support and social justice.
Position Summary

The Technology Officer plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s mission through the effective use of technology. This position will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all digital systems, infrastructure, and tools that support programs, advocacy, and operations. The Technology Officer ensures that technology is leveraged ethically and efficiently to enhance awareness campaigns, data management, digital security, and organizational effectiveness.


Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Technology Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.

  • Advise leadership on emerging technologies that can strengthen advocacy, training, and survivor support initiatives.

  • Ensure technology supports both operational efficiency and ethical data use, particularly concerning survivor privacy and protection.

Systems & Infrastructure Management
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including cloud-based systems, communication tools, and databases.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the organization’s website, digital learning platforms, and donor management systems.

  • Implement tools that enhance collaboration among staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection
  • Develop and enforce data protection policies to ensure the confidentiality of survivor and partner information.

  • Lead efforts to maintain secure systems and protect against cyber threats, following best practices in nonprofit data security.

  • Conduct regular security audits and staff training on safe digital practices.

Program & Digital Innovation Support
  • Support awareness and training programs through technology-driven platforms (e.g., e-learning, webinars, mobile apps).

  • Work with program teams to design digital tools for monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement.

  • Explore technology partnerships that expand the reach and sustainability of anti-trafficking efforts.

Vendor & Budget Management
  • Oversee technology-related vendors, contracts, and service providers.

  • Manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Seek and evaluate potential grant-funded or pro bono technology partnerships.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing technology or digital transformation in a nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organization.

  • Experience with website management, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang), cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365), and cybersecurity.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of data ethicsprivacy, and technology for social good.

  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into accessible solutions for non-technical teams.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Passion for human rightssocial justice, and survivor-centered approaches.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and cultural contexts.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in technology for humanitarian, social justice, or anti-trafficking programs.

  • Familiarity with digital advocacy, learning management systems, or open data initiatives.

  • Understanding of trauma-informed principles when designing or managing technology that serves survivors.
