Job description

Title:

Chemicals Technology Manager

KBR provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR's is seeking a Chemicals Technology Manager, with primary focus on Acetic Acid technology, you will support the licensing, delivery and growth of KBR's Chemicals technology portfolio. KBR's Chemicals portfolio focuses on the licensing of technology to produce intermediates and products from C2, C3 and C4 olefinic feeds, including Phenol/Acetone, BPA, Polycarbonate, Acetic Acid, Vinyl Acetate and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). As part of the Petrochemicals Product Service Line (PSL) you will support the business development of Chemicals technology lines.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Meet Annual Sales Objectives:
    Supports the achievement of the Chemicals business annual sales objectives, with emphasis on Acetic Acid.
  • Proposals and Sales Coordination:
    Provides technical support on the creation and delivery of proposals and ensures Sales Coordination is capable of rapidly responding to sales requests including studies and assessments.
  • Earnings Targets and Successful Project Delivery:
    Works with Operations and BED Team to support the achievement of annual earnings targets successful project delivery.
  • Chemicals Customer Profiles and Growth Strategy, Global Analysis:
    Works with Chemicals leadership and Sales & Marketing in the development of Customer profiles, go-to-market strategies and a global analysis. Support Regional Sales as required through the whole sales process including business development, proposal and negotiation phases.
  • Portfolio Growth and Development:
    Supports growth of the Chemicals Technology portfolio through alliances, acquisitions and improvements of existing technologies thorough analysis of the market as well as competing technologies.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Demonstrates a strong record of safety and a commitment to the value of safety measures.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to compliance with all laws, regulations and corporate policies to ensure the highest of ethics in business conduct including but not limited to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and anti-corruption policies.
    • Demonstrates a personal commitment to organizational excellence, displaying honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Minimum of 15 years in Chemicals technical and/or operations experience in the hydrocarbons processing industry, preferably with some experience with global licensing:
    • Experience specifying technical offerings and/or processing engineering services required.
    • Relevant technology experience in KBRs Chemicals technology offerings.
    • Must have 7+ years' experience with Acetic Acid.
  • Growth-oriented professional with a proven ability to execute Technology growth strategies and a successful track record in business development.
  • Ability to understand and participate in technology management, including support to regional Sales, proposal development, contract negotiation and project execution.
  • Must have strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Seeking a candidate with international work background.
  • Must be willing and available to travel international (~ 50% as needed).

Preferred Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • MBA (preferred)
  • Technical experience with Viny Acetate Monomer (VAM)
