Familiarity with agile methodologies, project management tools like Jira or Trello, and certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master are commonly required. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities help drive innovation and effectively manage cross-functional teams. These skills and qualities are crucial to successfully deliver technology projects, align team efforts, and achieve business goals in a fast-evolving tech environment.

Job description

Powerex-Iwata Air Technology Inc.

As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings-which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway-you'll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We're committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone's empowered to be their best.

Come join Powerex, an industry leading provider of oil free compressed air and vacuum technology, where engineering excellence, innovation, and customer impact drive everything we do.

WHO WE ARE:

Powerex designs and builds oil free compressed air and vacuum systems used in environments where performance matters most, from hospitals and laboratories to transit systems and advanced manufacturing operations. For more than three decades, our teams of engineers, technicians, and manufacturing professionals have partnered with customers to solve complex technical challenges and deliver highly reliable, application driven solutions.

As part of Marmon and Berkshire Hathaway, Powerex offers the stability of a well-capitalized organization combined with the agility of a growing business. Employees have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects, develop technical expertise, and build long term careers while contributing to systems that support critical infrastructure across multiple industries.

SUMMARY:
Powerex is looking for a business development manager dedicated to growing the Data Center power generation, selective catalytic reduction, and other key markets. Powerex has a presence with diesel power generation aftertreatment and emissions support. We are looking to expand and grow market share. The business development manager will look to build relationships with manufacturers, EPC firms, A&E firms, construction firms, and installers. This person must be a strong hunter who can find an audience with new prospects.

He/she will involve other members of the team including engineering, operations, management, quality, inside/outside sales, and customer service. While initial workload will target the power generation aftertreatment market, this position could shift focus to other compressed air applications as business priorities dictate. Other applications could include gas generation, methane abatement pneumatics, laboratory analysis, vacuum picking, thermoforming, food/beverage applications, and packaging. The position will cover the US and Canada, but due to the proximity of manufacturers and data centers, the ideal candidate would be located near an international or major airport for travel efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
  • Heavy prospecting skillset calling high, wide, and deep within prospective organizations
  • Build and maintain a positive working relationship with engineers, commercial, and sourcing counterparts
  • Work with customer service and management on quoting activities including the creation and submittal of quotes for customers
  • Respond to all requests for information about products, pricing, and lead times in a timely manner
  • Liaison with territory sales counterparts to hand off accounts when necessary
  • Become a subject matter expert on primary markets and applications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A BS/BA undergraduate degree is required
  • 2-5 years of technical sales experience is preferred
  • Experience with data centers, power generation, and emissions reduction is preferred
  • Experience working with or selling technical and/or industrial products is preferred
  • Well versed in CRM and/or Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) for customer tracking purposes and trend analysis
  • Experience with compressed air is preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are a necessity

Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class. If you require any reasonable accommodation to complete your application or any part of the recruiting process, please email your request to careers@marmon.com, and please be sure to include the title and the location of the position for which you are applying.
