Job Purpose

Hiring Product Development Engineer-Seal Technology for Houston, TX!  Within the TechnipFMC Core Technologies organization, reports to the Senior Manager - Seal Technology in Houston, TX.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without restriction.  For this position, we are not sponsoring or taking over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Job Description

Experienced in developing and evaluating sealing solutions by conducting detailed engineering analyses and recommending workable designs. Actively contributes to new product development and R&D initiatives, working with internal and external laboratories to advance and qualify seal technologies. Provides technical expertise to ensure projects meet performance requirements and industry standards, while assessing competitive and alternative sealing technologies for oil and gas applications. Skilled in performing FMEA, preparing engineering documentation, and ensuring compliance with established procedures. Proactive in identifying issues during development and qualification phases, and committed to continuous improvement through Lean Transformation practices.

You are meant for this job if:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience, or MS with 3+ years, demonstrating strong engineering fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of metallic and nonmetallic seal design, materials, design methods, calculations, and working knowledge of seal manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Proficient in FEA, seal material properties, and materials selection for oilfield applications, with good knowledge of API 6A/17D\
  • .Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, engineering systems, spreadsheets, presentations, and project management tools.Ability to work collaboratively in team environments, receive feedback constructively, and clearly articulate technical viewpoints.
  • Capable of fostering communication in diverse cultural environments and supporting crossfunctional collaboration.
  • Comfortable working primarily in an office with occasional exposure to shop/lab environments and some travel for vendor or client visits.
